Mr. Athas is a recognized authority in education law, with more than 30 years of experience in the field. He represents more than 500 independent schools nationwide and handles general school law problems for public schools as well as special education and vocational cooperatives in Illinois .

Mr. Athas also is well versed in representing public and private schools in all special education matters, including the development of policies and procedures, litigating due process hearings and appeals, and managing the formation and dissolution of cooperative entities, as well as addressing reasonable accommodation requests of persons with disabilities.
