In 1994 the firm also litigated and won a verdict in a malpractice case in which a physician failed to timely diagnose and treat breast cancer in a young woman (Woods v. Strider, M.D.). The verdict exceeded one million dollars and again, due to a solid record on appeal the case settled, this time for 100% of the verdict amount prior to any appellate review. In 1997 the firm settled a malpractice case also involving a failure to timely diagnose breast cancer for $850,000.00.

Mr. Ferretti utilizes his prior experience as an insurance defense attorney to seek all possible insurance coverage available for his clients and to successfully negotiate with the trained specialists from the insurance industry. The firm settled a six hundred member wage and hour class action for $1.24 million, Adams v. AMI, 3:94CV42 (N.D. W.Va), a 250 member multi-state wage and hour class action for $400,000.00, Kidrick v. Prime Time Rentals , 3:97CV69 (N.D. W.Va.), and a 30 member age discrimination class action for $550,000.00, UMWA v. Island Creek Coal Co ., 93-C-58 (Grant County, W.V.).
