Douglas Pryor Buffington, II, was born on May 25, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia. He is the son of Douglas and Susan Buffington who reside in Dunwoody, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. He attended Baylor University, a Southern Baptist University, in Waco Texas. While at Baylor, he majored in Finance, was a member of a professional business fraternity and worked with numerous chartable and civic organizations including the Boys Club of America. Additionally, he was actively involved in intramural athletics. Douglas attended the University Of Kentucky College Of Law in Lexington, Kentucky from 1996 through 1999 where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence.

Mr. Buffington began his legal career at the Raleigh County Public Defenders Office as an Assistant Public Defender. He worked there from 1999-2003 where he handled a wide spectrum of criminal matters. In particular, he has handled misdemeanor and felony criminal matters which include acting as lead counsel in trial for cases that involve life sentences, abuse and neglect proceedings and parole hearings. During this time, Mr. Buffington served on the Beckley Human Rights Commission which served the City of Beckley to protect the rights of its citizens. He also acted as a volunteer soccer coach at the YMCA.

In 2003, Mr. Buffington joined Pullin, Fowler and Flanagan as an associate at the firm's Beckley Office. While employed with the firm, Mr. Buffington has handled a wide spectrum of civil and criminal cases. In particular, he has handled a large number Federal Civil Rights cases on behalf of the Police, Prosecutors and Judges. In additional to his Civil Rights practice, Mr. Buffington also handles personal injury defense, municipal defense, educational law, employment law and premises liability.

Mr. Buffington is licensed to practice law in Colorado and West Virginia as well as before the Federal Southern District Court of West Virginia and the Fourth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. He currently resides with his wife Leslie and his two year old son Douglas Buffington, III, in Daniels, West Virginia.
