Michael Martensen's practice covers a broad range of intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution; patent litigation; patent portfolio management; IP protection in government contracts; client counseling in areas of infringement and validity of patents; and freedom to operate and product clearance investigations. As a registered patent attorney, Michael prosecutes patents in the technical fields of computer science, software, Internet related technologies, semiconductor devices and materials, encryption, fluid dynamics, and the mechanical arts specializing in aerospace related inventions. Michael's practice also involves counseling start up and emerging companies on protecting and commercializing their intellectual property with emphasis on the companies whose technology is or may be of interest to government entities.

Prior to practicing law, Michael was a fighter pilot and mission commander in the United States Air Force (USAF), flying F-15s for more than 15 years. During his tenure in the Air Force Michael traveled extensively and operated in several theaters, including the Middle East during and subsequent to the first Iraq war. In addition to his operational experiences, Michael was also a USAF program manager charged with operational testing of advanced systems and weapons related to the F-15 and other tactical systems. Michael is currently a reserve officer in the USAF possessing the rank of Lt. Col.
