Our firm was founded in 1960 by Earl King. Over forty years later, it remains a small, traditional law firm offering quality full-service legal services to clients in Weatherford, Parker County, and Fort Worth, Texas. In 1995, our firm affiliated with a larger firm, Law, Snakard & Gambill, located in Fort Worth. This association allows Law, Snakard, Gambill & King, LLP, to draw on the kind of large-firm expertise that is usually not available at a small firm. Therefore, clients receive the most attentive one-on-one attention as only a small firm could provide, while at the same time offering the proficiency of a large firm. The firm represents and advises clients in a wide variety of legal areas, such as general civil litigation, family law, estate planning, probate and estate administration, adoption, business and commercial law, business organizations, child support, custody and visitation, divorce, employment law, appeals, real estate law, and wills and trusts.
Business and Commercial Law- The law firm of Law, Snakard, Gambill & King, LLP, provides a wide variety of services to our business clients from assisting in selecting the type of organizational entity under which to operate, preparation of agreements, sale and purchase of businesses, obtaining financing and funding for business operations, and employee relations, to dissolution.
Business Organizations- The form of business chosen for a business entity potentially affects every aspect of its operations. Our firm assists clients in formation and business planning in deciding whether they want to operate as a closely held business, limited liability company, partnership, or corporation. We advise our clients about directors’ and officers’ liability, dissolution, franchising, reorganization, trade association membership and activity, joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, business successions, and shareholders’ rights. Our attorneys have years of experience in handling transactional and litigation matters.
Employment Law- Employment law covers a complex network of laws that controls how employers must treat employees, former employees, and applicants for employment. Our attorneys have significant experience in interpreting and construing state and Federal statutes and case law in areas such as employment discrimination, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee benefits, whistleblower litigation, wrongful discharge, employment contracts, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the Federal Employer’s Liability Act, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Estate Planning Law
- Snakard, Gambill & King, LLP, handles a variety of estate planning matters, including planning for the distribution of an individual’s property at his or her death and taking into account wills, taxes, insurance, property, and trusts so as to gain the maximum benefit of all laws, while, at the same time, carrying out the person’s wishes.
Family Law- Our firm handles a full range of family law matters including adoption, divorce, separation, premarital agreements, paternity, custody, and support.
Litigation and Appeals- Our attorneys represent and advise clients who are or might become involved in a lawsuit or appeal as a result of a dispute, including prevention and settlement, in such areas as personal injury and employment claims, contract disputes, and family law and commercial matters.
Probate & Estate Administration- Probate is the legal process by which a person’s debts are paid and assets are distributed upon her or his death. Estate administration includes the probate process as well as non-probate transfers of the deceased’s assets. Individual state laws direct the probate court how to distribute the deceased’s estate. State laws and procedures vary greatly, so it is imperative to consult a firm with proficiency in this area of law to ensure that the deceased’s assets are distributed correctly.
Real Estate- Our firm represents both commercial clients and individuals in all proceedings and transactions that deal with real property-land and the structures attached to it-including purchase and sale, construction, mortgages and foreclosures, leases, zoning, title examinations, quiet title actions, closings, and management. |
