Thorpe, Hatcher & Washington, L.L.P. does represent individuals in state and federal courts throughout the State of Texas from our offices in Dallas. Our attorneys are licenced to practice in the state and federal courts of Texas as well as the appellate courts for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Thorpe is board certified in personal injury trial law. Our other attorneys are not board certified in any legal specialization.

The practice of Thorpe, Hatcher & Washington, L.L.P. is highly concentrated in the area of employment litigation. The firm is currently and characteristically involved in representing employees and former employees in the following areas:

Victims of a sexually charged and hostile working environment; employees who have had employment or advancement in employment conditioned upon the granting of sexual favors; or, employees who have been retaliated against because they have rejected sexual advances or complained about sexual harassment.

Employees who have been discriminated against because of their race, sex or national origin.

Whistleblower Cases

Governmental employees who have been discriminated against because they have reported in good faith violations of law committed by their employers or co-workers as well as certain private sector employees who may be protected by statute.

Retaliation Claims

Employees who have been retaliated against for having engaged in protected activity including reporting discrimination, sexual harassment or filing claims for workers compensation benefits.

Contract Claims

Claims for termination in violation of an employment contract or failure to pay stipulated compensation under an employment agreement, including bonuses or commissions.

Employment Torts

Defamation, slander, intentional infliction of emotional distress, assault and tortious interference with contractual or business relationships in the workplace.

Employee Counseling

The firm also counsels with employees concerning severance agreements, employment contracts, covenants not to compete and similar legal issues arising out of the employment relationship.
