David Morris (Of Counsel)

David Morris served in the United States Air Force prior to beginning a private practice in Fort Worth, Texas focusing on small businesses.? In 1981, Mr. Morris became an Assistant General Counsel with Morgan Mgt. Corp., a regional consumer marketing company, where among other things he was instrumental in developing the legal forms necessary to introduce a new product line.? In 1986, Mr. Morris became Corporate Counsel for Sally Beauty Company, Inc.? At Sally, Mr. Morris completed numerous acquisitions, real estate transactions, distributorship agreements, joint ventures, business alliances and other business transactions.? He also handled employment, intellectual property and trade regulation matters for Sally.

Mr. Morris left Sally at the end of 2000 for a private practice focused on providing corporate counsel services to small and medium sized businesses and business persons and negotiating and closing business transactions.? His services are characterized by a thorough understanding of his clients' businesses and approximating the accessibility of an in-house counsel.? His practice concentrates in the following areas: business formation, commercial transactions, contracts, real estate, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and employment law.

Mr. Morris is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas and the District Court for the Northern District of Texas.? He is a member of the Texas and Dallas Bar Associations and the Corporate Counsel and Employment Law Sections of the Dallas Bar Association.? He is also a member of the Entertainment Law Study Group of the Dallas Bar Association where he has spoken on trademark and other intellectual property law subjects.

Mr. Morris received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Michigan State University in 1970 graduating with high honors.? In 1973, he received a J.D. Cum Laude from Wayne State University Law School where he also served as a Junior Editor and Managing Editor of the Wayne Law Review.? After graduating from law school, David served as Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1978 at Reese AFB in Lubbock, Texas; Korat, Thailand; and Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal for his distinguished service.

Mr. Morris is a past president of the Dallas Camera Club.? He is also active with his church, Lovers Lane United Methodist Church where he is a member of the Sanctuary Choir and has served as President of his Sunday School class. He is currently involved with the Alpha ministry at Lovers Lane.
