In addition, since 1995 he has successfully handled more cases on behalf of members of the United Steelworkers of America Local 3733 than any other lawyer in Berks County. His broad experience in workers' compensation matters includes injury claims ranging from orthopedic sprains, traumatic amputations, burns, fractures, hearing loss, serious back injuries, peripheral nerve damage, open and closed-head brain injuries to occupational diseases, fatal heart attacks, and psychiatric/psychological stress disabilities. He has appeared on numerous occasions before the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board and the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court on behalf of injured workers.

In addition to the foregoing, Mr. Welz civil trial experience has also included a number of significant matters before state trial courts and the American Arbitration Association involving professional and business partnership disputes and dissolutions, real estate litigation and partition, and fiduciary liability of guardians, agents and trustees on behalf of elderly and disabled clients and their beneficiaries.

His experience in the field of personal injury dates back to 1973 when he was employed in Philadelphia as a casualty claims adjuster. His knowledge of the inner workings and procedures of an insurance claim office and his experience in the courtroom have enabled him to successfully conclude hundreds of cases over the years in matters from minor injury to death involving automobile accidents, products liability, premises liability, and personal conduct. He has lectured in Continuing Legal Educational seminars and has appeared in State and Federal Courts.
