Akin Gump established an office in Philadelphia on May 1, 1996. The firm combined its practice with Panitch, Schwarze, Jacobs & Nadel, P.C., a prominent Philadelphia intellectual property firm, on July 1, 1999. The consolidation of these two firms helped establish Akin Gump as a nationwide leader in obtaining both patents and trademarks for its clients, as noted in surveys conducted by Intellectual Property Today.

The range of our current Philadelphia litigation practice includes the defense of commercial and health care insurers, accounting and auditing firms, and telecommunications companies in class action litigation advancing claims for alleged federal and state statutory and common law violations.
