Denny received his B.A. from the College of Wooster in 1960 and his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 1966. Licensed to practice in both Ohio and Florida, Denny has practiced in the U.S. District Courts of Ohio (Northern and Southern District), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the various state courts within Ohio, including the Ohio Supreme Court.

As a charter member of the executive committee of the Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys (affiliated with the Ohio School Boards Association), Denny served as its second chairman in 1978. Other professional affiliations include the National School Board Attorneys Association and the American, Ohio, Florida, and Akron Bar Associations. Denny also currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar.

Denny has presented speeches at the National School Boards Association on education of the handicapped and at the Ohio School Boards Association Capital Conference on several topics including the role of the board in negotiations.

While he is involved with all aspects of the firm's activities, Denny spends a majority of his time in labor negotiations and labor relations.
