Mr. Blustein started his legal career at the District Attorney's Office serving the People of Orange County from 1992 to 1996. From 1992 to 1994, he prosecuted all kinds of criminal cases in the local municipal courts, including hundreds of DWI's at both felony and misdemeanor levels. From 1995 to 1996 he was assigned to the Felony Narcotics and white Collar Crime Investigations Units where he was responsible for prosecuting major narcotics cases, including coordinating undercover investigations through conviction and supervised Orange Counties first welfare fraud indictments. He was certified by the United States Department of Justice in financial investigations and currently uses these skills in representing his corporate clients in all levels of collection matters.

Mr. Blustein left the DA's office in 1997 to join his father in the law firm of Blustein & Blustein LLP, one of the predecessor law firms to Blustein, Shapiro & Rich. It was there that he began serving the legal needs of the business community, often developing relationships with children of his father's existing clients who were getting involved with the family business. It is with pride that Michael states that many of their corporate clients have been represented by Burt and Michael for many years and that many of these clients have become friends as well.

Mr. Blustein now has a diverse general corporate practice with an emphasis on advising medium to large sized Hudson Valley based companies on both transactional and litigation matters. He represents many developers and builders of both commercial and residential real estate handling every aspect of the process from land use planning and municipal matters to the financing of projects and subsequent sale or rental of these properties. He is bank counsel to several large lending institutions on both commercial and residential loans.

Michael is currently the Town of Greensville Planning Board Attorney and a member of the City of Middletown Republican Committee, recently serving as a judicial delegate for the Supreme Court, 9th Judicial District. He is married to the former Stacey Levitan and resides in Middletown where he was raised with their two daughters, Hannah and Rachel.
