James B. Seplowitz joined the firm in September, 2004. He concentrates on criminal defense and municipal court matters, including all appeals. Mr. Seplowitz has handled numerous cases on both the Superior Court and Municipal Court levels. He is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Mr. Seplowitz received his law degree in 2003 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York, NY and is a magna cum laude graduate of Yeshiva College, Yeshiva University (B.A. in History). After graduating from law school, Mr. Seplowitz clerked in the Criminal Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey for the Honorable Donald R. Venezia, J.S.C. While in law school, Mr. Seplowitz was competitively selected as a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, the Immigration Law Clinic and the Criminal Defense Clinic. As a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, he participated in national moot court competitions as both an oralist and writer. In the Cardozo Criminal Defense Clinic, Mr. Seplowitz served as a student attorney representing clients accused of various misdemeanor crimes in the Manhattan County Criminal Court. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Seplowitz's primary objective has been to vigorously advocate on behalf of his clients and protect their individual rights and civil liberties. Mr. Seplowitz is currently a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), the Bergen County Bar Association (BCBA), the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), and the NORML Legal Committee.
