Hartelius, Ferguson, Baker and Durocher, P.C., is a four attorney firm practicing in the settlement and trial of personal injury, wrongful death and railroad injury cases (FELA, the federal law which covers injuries to railroaders). Our firm has a regional client base with approximately 45% of our clients living outside Cascade County. We have clients in the Dakotas, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington and Montana, from Libby to Sidney and from Shelby to Dillon. We routinely travel within the region to meet with clients and investigate cases. We also routinely accept referrals from and associate with other attorneys throughout the state and the region.

As the firm has grown, our mission has remained to provide the highest quality personal injury, wrongful death and FELA practice in Montana. Our attorneys are members of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and are licensed to practice in all state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. We are also licensed to practice in all tribal courts.

For the past 10 years we have worked closely with railroaders from all crafts handling cases against Burlington Northern, MRL and the Union Pacific. Many of our current clients have come to us because they want experienced and accessible Montana attorneys handling their cases. They are tired of "Big City" lawyers who run up thousands in airplane, meal and motel expenses and then charge those expense back to their clients.

We handle our injury cases primarily on a contingent fee basis which means the client pay us no legal fees unless we recover for the client. Our firm has a track of sizable recoveries for our clients.

Hartelius, Ferguson, Baker and?Durocher has built an experienced support staff for the complete handling of all types of injury and death cases. Included in our staff are college educated paralegals who work closely with the attorney in charge of each case. We also employ economic and vocational rehabilitation experts on individual cases, and work closely with other professionals to maximize the recovery for each client.
