The firm combined its practice with Panitch, Schwarze, Jacobs & Nadel, P.C., a prominent Philadelphia intellectual property firm, on July 1, 1999. The consolidation of these two firms helped establish Akin Gump as a nationwide leader in obtaining both patents and trademarks for its clients, as noted in surveys conducted by Intellectual Property Today.
